The EQA - River

Water flows constantly through our rivers towards the sea with high velocities. The movement of all this water contains a large amount of energy. Why are we not using this more often?

 With this question in mind, EQA-Projects started developing the EQA-River: A floating hydropower installation generating sustainable energy from the power of moving water. Not only limited to rivers, the EQA-River can also be used near existing objects with a high water velocity such as creeks and bridge pillars.

With its lightweight construction and automatic adaption to the water conditions, the EQA-River is adaptable to many different conditions and is able to generate electricity in areas where it thusfar has been difficult to do so.

By using the constant flow of water and thus always able to generate electricity, the EQA-River can also be used to supplement exisiting sustainable energy solutions such as windmill parks.

Smart

The EQA-River generates clean energy from free flowing water. By utilising the movement of the water in our rivers, an EQA-River hydropower installation is able to achieve high electricity yields.

The ease of installation an EQA-River makes it possible to generate electricity anywhere alongside a river system. This allows the generation of clean electricity at remote locations where this was thus far difficult to achieve.

With its high electricity generation yields, the EQA-River can produce clean energy at economical and competitive costs, and will assist in the energy transition to sustainable energy.

The low rotational speed of the applied EQA-Waterwheel ensures that an EQA-River hydropower installation has minimal impact on living organisms in the water. The low sound of the waterwheel production ensures that the neighbouring nature on land will remain unhindered.

With its flexible construction, the EQA-River can be adjusted to suit the aesthetics suitable to its operationial enviornment, and by applying the installation near existing objects will reduce visual pollution to a minimum.

Being largely built from reused plastics, the EQA-River will make a contribution in reducing the plastic soup drifting in our seas.

 

Watermanagers can improve their knowledge and understanding of a river system with self powered measurement systems built inside an EQA-River installation.

The EQA-River makes real time measurements including but not limited of:

  • Stream velocity
  • Water clarity
  • Water levels
  • Water temperatures

Multiple EQA-River installations in a river system are able to communicate with each other, enabling the EQA-River to contribute to a 'Smart River System'.

The EQA-River is able to pump itself higher or lower in the water automatically as conditions determine.
